About Me

Jessica Calvert  MBAcC BSc Hons.

 Training and Experience

I completed my degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) & Acupuncture at the University of Salford in 2010, shortly after graduating I travelled to China where I completed a post-graduate course at the Guiyang college of  TCM. Here I worked alongside some very experienced Chinese Medical Doctors and learned some invaluable acupuncture techniques which I use in my clinic today.

I have completed training courses with renowned specialist Jani White - Gynaecology & Fertility and also Obstetric Acupuncture.

I also hold a post graduate certificate for facial revitalisation acupuncture.

I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) which is the UK's largest regulatory body of professional acupuncturists. As a member of the BAcC I complete at least 30 hours of continuing professional development each year.

In 2012 I  became a Breastfeeding Support Volunteer with the National Childbirth Trust. Peer support training builds support for mothers by mothers and is proven to improve breastfeeding rates within a community.  More information on this can be found here - http://www.nct.org.uk/professional/breastfeeding-peer-support-training. This is something I do voluntarily, at Haslingden Community Link however I do use this training and knowledge in my day to day practice with pregnant and post-partum ladies.
